For the second year in a row, the USTA will offer a multi-platform partnership with CNBC, The Tennis Channel, and USOpen.org to provide a special Monday night “trimulcast” of the US Open. This unique broadcast arrangement will offer tennis fans innovative viewing options, support the USTA’s broadcast partners -- including the USTA’s partnership with The Tennis Channel -- and extend live US Open coverage to USOpen.org, the official website of the US Open.

Read more...After a half-hour of play on Monday, the second-seeded doubles team of Lisa Raymond and Samantha Stosur looked comfortably in command of their third round match against Bethanie Mattek and Sania Mirza. The former US Open champions had just won the first set in dominant fashion, and the veterans had the youngsters reeling on the ropes. But when the chair umpire announced the winners in the end, it was Raymond and Stosur that would suffer the knockout punch, losing in a shocking upset 2-6, 7-5, 7-5.

Exactly what Nadal needed to happen for him to continue his quest to win did—or at the very least continue playing here at the Open. Walking out on Arthur Ashe Stadium with tons of issues surrounding the tendonitis in his left knee, the biggest question tonight was simply whether or not he would default. But Nadal ran into an opponent physically worse off than himself.
