 Delegates from 193 countries that are members of the World Health Organization (WHO) are meeting in Geneva from May 14-23 to discuss and take action on resolutions submitted by the WHO Executive Board. Some of the critical issues they will address include pandemic and avian influenza, especially conflict zones: Abkhazia, Tshinvali region, Kosovo; the retention of the smallpox virus for scientific research; the harmful use of alcohol; and the prevention and control of non-communicable diseases. |
