We encourage all physicians in outpatient setting including, mostly family practice offices to review their office plans for management of pediatric emergencies. Because it is not possible to prepare for every conceivable emergency, the question of appropriate preparation arises. Proper preparation requires knowing what emergencies may occur. Unfortunately, the literature gives different definitions of office emergencies.

Born and raised in the Soviet system he reached high administrative positions within the Communist Party. In mid-1980’s he allied himself with Gorbachev and his “reformist” crew, disparately trying to save and reform already un-reformable Soviet Union.

Introduction
Compelling clinical trial evidence exists that antiplatelet, ß-blocker, angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor, and lipid-lowering therapies reduce the risk of recurrent cardiovascular events, hospitalization, and heart failure and substantially improve survival in Post MI patients. Despite this evidence as well as clinical guidelines recommending these cardiovascular protective treatments in Post MI patients, a number of studies have documented low treatment rates in this patient population. The conventional approach to the initiation of lipid-lowering therapy was to not start therapy in the hospital for patients with acute MI; instead, the many practitioners recommended waiting a period of time until the patient was metabolically stable as an outpatient.

If these diseases are not accurately diagnosed and treated, they cause mental retardation, severe illness, and premature death in newborns.
