The UN General Assembly passed a resolution on the breakaway Abkhazia on Thursday, stating necessity to start return of IDPs at home and stop illegal privatization of their property left in the breakaway region.

Joe Johnson shook off a poor night to hit a crucial 3-pointer with 1:07 remaining and the Atlanta Hawks forced an improbable Game 7 with Boston, beating the top-seeded Celtics 103-100 on Friday night.

Marvin Williams led the Hawks with 18 points despite missing most of the fourth quarter with a knee injury. Kevin Garnett paced the Celtics with 22 points and Ray Allen added 20.

The deciding game is Sunday in Boston. The home team has won every game in the surprisingly close series.

According to the Russian Agency ITAR-TASS, the Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Valery Keniyakin announced today that if there will be any military intervention in Abkhazia and South Ossetia, Russia will use the military method.

TBILISI (Reuters) - Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili accused Russia on Monday of committing an act of aggression against his country and telephoned President Vladimir Putin to demand Moscow stop "aggressive attacks."Read more...

"Today I spoke to the Russian Federation's President Vladimir Putin. This was an uneasy talk," Saakashvili said in a televised address.

Georgia: Russia shot down our drone PDF Print E-mail

Apr 21 - Ex-Soviet Georgia has accused a Russian air force jet of shooting down an unmanned Georgian reconnaissance drone over Georgian territory.

Georgia's air force supplied to Reuters video footage which it said was recorded and transmitted by the drone's on-board camera before it was shot down.

No identification markings are visible on the aircraft that fired the missile.

The meeting was attended by a writer and a public activist, Dr. Ushangi Rizhinashvili; a university professor of Slavonic languages and literature from Indiana, Dodona Kiziria; an artist, Eteri Chkadua; an actor of a Washington theater, Irakli Kavsadze; a music conductor from Los Angeles, Marina Lomtatidze, and others.
