July 14, 2008 (Houston, Texas) - World-renowned cardiovascular surgeon Dr Michael DeBakey has died at age 99. One of the few heart surgeons to gain international recognition outside of medicine, he passed away of natural causes on Friday evening at the center that bears his name, part of the Baylor College of Medicine and Methodist Hospital in Houston. |

Couple decades ago Atlanta Hawks visited city of Sokhumi in Georgia. Since, we are with Hawks!
Zaza Pachulia #27 of the Atlanta Hawks celebrates after a basket against the Boston Celtics in Game Six of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals.
Joe Johnson shook off a poor night to hit a crucial 3-pointer with 1:07 remaining and the Atlanta Hawks forced an improbable Game 7 with Boston, beating the top-seeded Celtics 103-100 on Friday night.
Marvin Williams led the Hawks with 18 points despite missing most of the fourth quarter with a knee injury. Kevin Garnett paced the Celtics with 22 points and Ray Allen added 20.
The deciding game is Sunday in Boston. The home team has won every game in the surprisingly close series. |

TBILISI (Reuters) - Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili accused Russia on Monday of committing an act of aggression against his country and telephoned President Vladimir Putin to demand Moscow stop "aggressive attacks." "Today I spoke to the Russian Federation's President Vladimir Putin. This was an uneasy talk," Saakashvili said in a televised address. |
