Tbilisi. October 24 (Prime-News) – Irakli Alasania, permanent representative of Georgia to the UN, reckons that the UN should undertake more efforts regarding the issue of ethnic purging in Abkhazia.

Alasania stated at the session of the parliamentary temporary committee on restoration of territorial integrity today that a conference concerning ethnic purging would be held in UN Headquarters on November 29.

According to him, the conference will be attended by the international experts, specialists, representatives of the UN, who are responsible for work over the issue on return of refugees and protection of their rights.

Representatives of Georgian organizations, working on protection of refugees' rights, will also participate in the conference and inform the international society about the current situation.
