The organ trade became a global phenomenon. Since the introduction of the immuno-suppressant drugs organ transplantation has become a relatively safe operation. As a result in many parts of the world, the demand for organs far outweighs the supply. Brokers have stepped in, offering organs for sale to cover the deficit. We already inform that Abkhazia (breakaway province of Georgia) became a paradise for drug dealers and kidnapers. Recently, a NGO Abkhazia Institute for Social and Economic Research, based in California decided to truck traffic in human organs specifically from Abkhazia. A research team led by Doctor Loraine Sandoval documented the practices of organ harvesting in Abkhazia.
This research shows that abuses associated with organ transplants occur in various forms from executed prisoners to the removal of organs from dead bodies without knowledge of the families of the dead, as well as kidnapping and “transferring” potential victims or body parts through the Russian borders, controlled by Abkhazian militia and corrupted Russian border guards. All documented facts research team will submit with WHO, and UN. It is clear why Foreign Minister of breakaway Abkhazia Sergey Shamba said that Sokhumi (capital of Abkhazia) will never agree to the deployment of Georgian customs officers at the Adleri-Leselidze checkpoint on the border between Abkhazia and Russia because narco-, and human trafficking are the biggest source of income for breakaway Abkhazia and Russian Peacekeepers. |
