IOC president Rogge arrives in Beijing

International Olympic Committee (IOC) president Jacques Rogge arrived in Beijing Thursday, a week before the Olympics Games opens on Aug. 8. Rogge will chair a series of IOC meetings beginning Saturday before supervising the run of the Aug. 8-24 Beijing Olympics, the second summer games held during his term as the IOC chief. The 88-year-old Spaniard is expected to stay at the city until the end of the games. Rogge, 66, succeeded Samaranch in July 2001 as the IOC president. !
