Leverkusen snap up Faty

UEFA Cup contenders Bayer 04 Leverkusen have announced the signing of midfield anchorman Ricardo Faty from AS Roma for an undisclosed fee. European experience The 20-year-old Frenchman has agreed a deal running until summer 2009, and moves in the opposite direction to €7m defender Juan. Faty began his career at hometown club RC Strasbourg before joining Roma for €350,000 a year ago having represented France in the UEFA European Under-21 Championship. He made eleven Serie A appearances and three in the UEFA Champions League last season.
