The Georgian side evaluates the Georgian-Abkhazian negotiations on resolution of the conflict held in Geneva on February 12-13 as effective and successfull. Merab Antadze, State Minister of Georgia for conflict resolution, and Irakli Alasania, Ambassador of Georgia to the UN, stated about that at the press conference on Friday.

Alasania stated that the dialogue with Abkhazian side was complicated due to recently lost contacts between the parties, thus the abovementioned meeting will be evaluated in the resolution on the results of the meeting, which will be adopted by the UN Security Council in April.

According to Alasania, UN Secretary General’s group of friends on Georgia and Jean Arnault, gave a positive evaluation to fulfillment of the resolution on situation in Upper Abkhazia, and resumption of negotiations on security issues, namely in Gali region, where facts ov human rights’ violation have been revealed lately.
