Willian wends his way to Shakhtar

Ukrainian giants FC Shakhtar Donetsk have added to their substantial summer spending spree with the signing of €14m midfielder Willian from SC Corinthians. Exciting teenager The 19-year-old, a right-sided attacking midfielder, has signed a five-year contract in Donetsk after making 15 league appearances for São Paulo-based Corinthians this year and ten for Brazil's Under-20 team. Shakhtar have now spent €60m this summer bringing in Willian, Italy striker Cristiano Lucarelli, Brazilian defender Ilsinho and Mexico attacking midfielder Neri Castillo. However, the sales of Anatoliy Tymoschuk, Matuzalem, Ciprian Marica, Julius Aghahowa and Elano Blumer have kept the books balanced.
