Self-proclaimed Abkhazian rulers are permitted by Russia to launch genocidal war against Georgians. In a Euro-Liberal and Russia are dominating on world, Abkhazian’s separatist rulers are permitted to launch a second genocidal war just 20 miles away from Sochi, 2014 Winter Olympics.
At what point do we ask the uncomfortable question, why does the UN seem to consider it acceptable for such genocidal acts to occur in Abkhazia? It is a rhetorical question, which may be posed by 300 000 displaced Georgians on September 27 as the world marks the 14th anniversary of the genocide that left at least 35,000 Georgians dead. Under cover of ceasefire in September 1993, Abkhazian separatists with uncover support of regular Russian Army unleashes ethnic cleansing in Abkhazia– with impunity. The UN Human Rights Commission continues to ignore both the HRW report and its own investigators, who concluded that Abkhazian separatists have engaged in “crimes against humanity” in Abkhazia. Europeans, finding few excuses for doing nothing to stop genocide in the past, pretended to make big plans for the future. While EU and UN diplomats discussed the possibility of an EU-led peacekeeping mission to the Abkhazian region of Georgia, Russian diplomats scored easy propaganda points and legalized them presence in Abkhazia, but with new peacekeepers uniform and forced self-proclaimed Abkhazian Government to continue genocidal campaign. The European Commission today launched a strong appeal to warring parties in the Abkhazian region of Georgia to secure "safe humanitarian access" so future of 300 000 displaced people (more than 80% of population) still under discussion. The Commission is announcing about humanitarian aid decision to assist the victims of the conflict that has claimed thousands of lives and resulted in huge population displacements. What now? Russian peacekeepers are heavily involved in drug smuggling and human trafficking, UN declares and peacefully watching on the hands of Russian mentors, Georgia is unable yet to confront Russian opponents on own territory, Russia time to time shows muscles. So, what? The shadows of the past rest with 300,000 survivors. Nightmares still haunt innocent children who already became adult. They narrowly escaped death, they survived the genocide. The separatist rulers of Abkhazia marked them forever. UN Human Rights Commission, always votes for the toothless resolution on Abkhazia. Only the few countries and U.S. among them calls for stronger language. UN must decide to remove Russian peacekeepers from Abkhazia
