The Georgian Foreign Ministry has called illegal presidential elections passing on Sunday in the unprompted republic of Abkhazia and called on the international community to condemn them.
The results of the war in Abkhazia were disastrous for the people of the region, for the whole population of Georgia. Besides tens of thousands of dead on both sides, an autonomous republic has left about ¾ of its legal population. Refugees became almost 300 thousands of Georgians, and up to 40 thousand Abkhazians themselves, many Greeks, Estonians, Ukrainians, Jews, part Russians, etc.
Let's face it, most experts in their hearts did not believe in the victory of the opposition, exactly as did not believe that liberal democracy is possible in today's Georgia. In fact, there were good reasons for that, both within the government and in the opposition and society.
On 5th of October the society of Abkhazia in connection with the date of the fall of Gagra, gathered in the blue monastery where once again reminded of the tragic events and paid tribute to the victims.

Supported by the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia and Tbilisi City Hall, "Abkhazeti № 1" School of Arts and the opera song house performed a debut theatric concert "Mozartiana" in the State Conservatoire small concert hall. Such concert was performed for the first time. The pupils and teachers with chamber orchestra took part in it.
By initiative of the Chairman of Abkhazian Government Giorgi Baramia and supported by the International humanitarian organization "Good Samaritan in Georgia", gifts were presented to IDP children from Abkhazia compactly settled at #104 kindergarten in Gldani, Tbilisi.
Today, by initiative of the Government of A/R Abkhazia and "Nikora" company's financial support presents were given to Abkhazian families settled in Lilo, Tbilisi.
The main goal of the project was to show governmental concern and care about IDPs.
On October 4, 2011 another 17th round of Geneva talks will be held. Giorgi Baramia the chairman of the Government of A/R of Abkhazia already headed to Switzerland for participation. Giorgi Bokeria, Chairman of the National Security council will lead the Georgian delegation.
Initiated by the Government of A/R of Abkhazia food products were dispensed to IDP families from Abkhazia.
Today the Government Members dispensed food products to socially vulnerable IDPs settled in No140 kindergarten of Gldani 5th micro-region and to families of those killed in Abkhazian war as well as to the war 1st group invalids.
